UC Number 29 in ESPN Yards to Glory

29. Snow Cats

Cincinnati wins Big East title on late-game TD
Dec. 5, 2009: On a snowy day at Heinz Field with the Big East title on the line, Pittsburgh raced out to a 31-10 first-half lead. But defending league champ Cincinnati kept roaring back in a thrilling shootout. After Dion Lewis scored with 1:36 left to put Pitt ahead 44-38, the Bearcats quickly marched down to the Panthers' 29-yard line. For some reason, Pittsburgh decided to blitz and leave Armon Binns in one-on-one coverage down the sideline. Quarterback Tony Pike recognized that right away and lofted a perfect touchdown pass into the corner of the end zone for a 45-44 win and second straight BCS trip for Cincinnati.

ESPN is doing this thing where they count down the greatest plays based on the length of the play. UC checks in here with the Greatest Play in UC Football History. This day was absolutely awesome. I wrote the 'Cats off at least three times that day while bonging beers like ya read about. UC was 3rd in the BCS at the time and if Texas would have lost UC would have won the right to get smoked by 'Bama in the title game. What a night, just crushing Tuaca shots down at the Hall when Texas initially lost the game, only to crush even mroe Tuaca when they put a second back on the clock and Texas ended up winning.
