Cincinnati.com - The city of Cincinnati will host a special NASCAR preview on Wednesday.
Mayor Mark Mallory said there will be a NASCAR Hauler Tour 11 a.m.-1 p.m. in the parking lot at Fifth and Race streets, downtown. It will showcase five of the race car haulers from Stuart-Haas Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing, city officials say.
The free event will include Joe Gibbs Racing haulers transporting Kyle Busch's No. 18, Denny Hamlin's No. 11 and Joey Logano's No. 20 and Stewart-Haas Racing haulers featuring Tony Stewart's No. 14 and Ryan Newman's No. 39.
Fans will get a chance to talk with NASCAR mechanics, crew and racing officials.
The event is Cincinnati's official NASCAR kickoff leading up to the Quaker State 400 race Saturday at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta.
DISCLAIMER - I'm going to write about NASCAR, which may bore most of you, but it's my blog, so I don't really give a rat's ass.
Ahh, the beauty of NASCAR comes rolling into the Kentucky Speedway this weekend for the Quakers State 400 on Saturday. Nothing revs my engine up more than seeing these prodigious athletes make lefts hand turns at 200 MPH. Should be an interesting race since this is the first time that a Sprint Cup race will be held at KY Speedway and many of the drivers have never run a lap on this track before. The Speedway has held some Nationswide and Truck series events here in the past so look for the drivers that regularly run in those series to have strong showings this week. My boy the 18, Kyles Busch has three wins at this track and his teammate the 20, Joeys Logano has won on this track the past two years on the Nationswide series. Of course, the only thing that could make this better would be if they had a special entrant and let Cartman get out there and drive the #5 Vagisil car. Now that would really spice things up.
