Kentucky law does not allow the pension benefits of state lawmakers to be withheld unless they commit a crime while in office in their capacity as a legislator.
Nunn, 58, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Fayette Circuit Court to the 2009 murder of Amanda Ross, his former fiancée. He was scheduled to go to trial in August. Nunn waived formal sentencing, and Judge Pamela Goodwine sentenced him to life in prison without possibility of parole.
You want to talk about a guy that knows how to work a system. Ole Stevies Nunn is just working over the system real good right here. This guy knew what he was doing. You don't become a Kentucky lawmaker for 4 years without knowing the loopholes of the system. He knew he couldn't kill his fiance until after he was out of office, so all he did was bide his time until he knew he could still collect that fat state pension. Not only is he going to get free food and lodging for the rest of his life, and not only did he cheat the prosecutors out of the chance to send him to the chair by pleading out, but he is still going to collect a good deal of cash every year from his state pension as a lawmaker. Do you know how many cartons of cigarettes $28,210 a year can buy you? And that's before his cost of living increase he gets in four years. Nunn is going to be living like a king in this prison with all the smokes he can buy. All he needs to do is find him a guy in the can like Red and he'll be trading those smokes for a sweet Brooklyns Decker poster in no time. Not to mention the fact that I guarantee Nastys Nate ain't going to toss your salad if you have the disposable income to toss him a couple of packs of Newsports every week.
